“Your mind is the most powerful thing you have, becoming aware of your unconscious is the key to unlocking its full potential. You need to recognise your shadow, learn to embrace and transform it if you want to break free and transform your destiny.”
~ Warren Munitz
NLP is an approach to personal development first created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in the 1970s. Neuro-linguistic programming or NLP is an extremely powerful approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy. It describes the dynamics between mind and language and how they affect your body and behaviours. In other words, it’s a way you can use your perception (neurology) and language to create the results you want.
Through Neuro Linguistic Programming, your unconscious mind might become more encouraged to be open about the problems you’re facing or past experiences you’ve kept buried.
Today, NLP therapy is one of the tools, and life coaches use to help you change the connection between your neurological processes, language and behavioural patterns, which you learned through experiences, to achieve specific goals in life.
NLP is used as one of the tools to re-frame how you experience reality. By exploring your natural language – how you talk to yourself and communicate with others, you’ll become more aware of what’s keeping you stuck.
Once you’ve detected these unconscious limiting beliefs, you can set out to change your perceptions and thus your behaviour, and in so doing stop repeating the same old habits that no longer serve to bring you happiness and growth.
Its main aim is to help your conscious and unconscious mind connect and communicate with one another, so you can understand yourself better and become empowered to take the actions needed to create change in your life.
The unconscious mind is not a brainless monkey, but a potent part of you; it’s the place where all your memories, habits, thoughts and behaviours live.
When your whole self is aligned, conscious and unconscious, you can erase your limiting beliefs and take action to transform your life.
Often you are not consciously aware of why you do something. For example, why you crave sweets and chocolate when you’re upset or why you feel anxious at parties. This is where NLP might help. It takes you through a step-by-step process of:
During this process, you might look at reality, based on what your history, culture, values and beliefs dictate, and then delete, distort and generalise your focus so you can train your unconscious to react differently to certain situations.
When you rephrase questions, you ask yourself to create a more positive and relaxing state, you’ll be more open to seeing the opportunities around you. For example, “how can I use each moment to experience love and growth”.

Investing in yourself will always have the biggest impact on your life. “The most important investment you can make is in yourself.” – Warren Buffet
Self-Discipline has its origin in becoming a disciple of the Self. Commit to the process of regular coaching and meditation.
Have you considered the cost of not investing in yourself? Not choosing to invest in yourself, robs you of the precious time you have in this world, and how you are experiencing that time, whether it’s one of suffering or celebrating life. If you’re not living a life filled with love, meaning and purpose, are you not wasting each moment you have here? Why would you choose to waste even one more second, knowing that you can create an infinitely more fulfilling life, by investing and backing yourself.
To be fair, time is the only thing you do have. It’s the most precious thing you have here, and it doesn’t wait for anyone. Your experience of life is intimately connected to how you choose to spend your time. Time is really the only thing you’re spending. What are you investing your time into? If you don’t invest time into yourself, to create the life you want, what are you investing in?
The truth is, the only things that do work are the things that you commit to. To create something of value, requires a complete investment of yourself. So that you become the change that you want to create. Without being open and willing to change, the only thing that will happen is that you will see more of the same.
